Baden bei Wien: Idyllic Setting, Wellness,

The nostalgic Biedermeier charm of Baden, an elegant spa known far beyond the borders of Austria, belies the variety the town has to offer. For example, Europe's largest casino, the ultra-modern Römertherme baths or a famous operetta theater. Surrounded by vineyards cultivated since Roman times, the town masterfully combines the traditional with the modern. Tranquility and entertainment need not be mutually exclusive.

"Scintillating Baden bei Wien"

is the municipal motto and trademark. Located 30 kilometers to the south of Vienna, Baden is the main center in the Thermenregion, an area known for its hot springs and fine wines. Baden is an open minded yet elegant spa offering a very pleasant blend of relaxation and excitement. This is why the marketing for this resort town of 25,000 inhabitants focuses on "soft" tourism featuring special events, health and conferences. Our high standards of quality and comfort are tailored to meet the needs of a high-powered target group, who is keen on one thing in their - often very rare - free time: rest & relaxation with a touch of class.

The latest major project is the new Römertherme, the largest glass-roofed hot springs complex in Europe. In fact the complex is a great achievement encouraging holistic vitality and prevention as the focal points of a healthy life. For example, the biosauna, Oriental style steam bath, tepidarium and, at the core of the complex, the Wellness Center featuring massage, gymnastics and a fitness room, as well as self-exploratory meditation and autogenic training. The old word of wisdom "water is life" attains a new meaning here.

Baden is a great place to be in general; boredom is part of the vocabulary here. Trot races and roulette are just around the corner, as are golf, theater and long walks in the vineyards. Shopping at Grüner Markt is a pastime insiders very much enjoy as are excursions to the spa park (Kurpark) or Doblhoffpark or a stop at one of the traditional coffeehouses to catch up on all the newspapers. Baden is also a perfect base for exploring the larger region: Fifty kilometers to the east is the pleasantly mild lake Neusiedler See. The same distance to the south is the great mountain hiking country around Schneeberg and Hohe Wand. And with the "Badener Bahn" the town has fast direct train connections to Vienna, for a stress-free visit to the Austrian capital.
